Ruth is known to be occasionally vocal and strong-willed, but this behaviour is discouraged by both her father and her chaperone Mrs. Devon. Being a devoted reader who reads many adventure books for most of her free-time, Ruth has a very avid imagination and keen interest in adventure, making her a very curious. Though she is a quick-learner, Ruth is very naïve about the world around her, having been brought up under the watch of her father and servants. Ruth is a very cheery and playful young woman and is rarely seen with a frown on her face. She is can kind, making friends fairly easily and quickly, and is also very loyal to her companions. Being very fond of the natural world, Ruth is often found reading a book by the window-sill overlooking the breathtaking scenery of Port Peral.
